Former school superintendent sentenced for child sex crimes

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - The former Owensboro Public Schools Superintendent who pled guilty to sexually exploiting children was sentenced to prison Wednesday afternoon.
Court officials say 53-year-old Matthew Constant has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.
As we reported, Constant was indicted by a federal grand jury in August.
Constant was arrested in July of 2023 following an investigation by Kentucky State Police.
He pled guilty to nine charges back in February of this year.
According to court records, the guilty plea was not part of a plea deal.
He’s set to be sentenced at 11 a.m.
He is being charged with the following:
- Online Enticement of a Minor, Receipt of Child Pornography
- Transfer of Obscene Material to a Minor
- Online Enticement of a Minor
- Sexual Exploitation of Children.
