Water still too high to work on Riverside Dr. sinkhole

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Work is still stalled on the sinkhole that led to the closure of Riverside Drive in Evansville.
Officials tell us crews can’t work to fix the issue because of the Ohio River level.
Right now, it’s just over 30 feet, and it must be below 23 feet for crews to get in there to work.
Officials say it’s not expected to be below that level until May 15.
The westbound lanes have been closed since that sinkhole formed in late February.
Crews closed down the eastbound lanes two weeks ago.
Drivers are encouraged to use Second Street as a detour.
