Wesselman Woods cutting ribbon on new accessibility path expansion

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Officials will Wesselman Woods is celebrating the newest accessibility change to their nature trails.
On Monday May 12, Wesselman Woods officials and Mayor Stephanie Terry will be cutting the ribbon on the new additions that create a more accessible pathway from the front entrance to the Nature Playscape.
The most recent improvements include a new automatic door that exits to the trails, a new concrete path through the event space immediately outside the Nature Center, an updated boardwalk trail with handrails providing safe passage around the Odonata Amphitheater hill, and a crushed gravel path leading directly to the Welborn Baptist Foundation Nature Playscape.
The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on the 12th.
Wesselman Woods will also be hosting a celebratory week of free admission for the public from Tuesday, May 13 to Sunday, May 18.
The free week will culminate in a free outdoor performance by the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra’s Eykamp String Quartet on Sunday, May 18 at 2 p.m.
