EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - A man accused in the murder Evansville DJ, Shane Breedlove, will be heading to trial in June.

Handegard was arrested back in March, 10 years after the death of Breedlove.

That was after charges had been dropped against Handegard and two other suspects in 2015.

One of those suspects was Handegard’s father, Bobby John Handegard.

During the hearing today, the State of Indiana filed for immunity to be granted to Bobby John Handegard for his testimony in the trial.

That would protect against his testimony and evidence obtained from it being used against him in a future criminal prosecution.

However, the State could use evidence of the same crime from another source to prosecute the Bobby John Handegard.

Police say Shane Breedlove was gunned down on Evansville’s east side on July 19, 2015.
