Museum of Coal Industry celebrates 25 years
LYNVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Museum of the Coal Industry in Lynnville is celebrating 25 years.
Over that time, the museum has showcased Indiana’s coal mining history, using a range of historical artifacts like coal equipment, coal train cars and more.
They also do tours through exhibits showing what home would have looked like for the miners of generations past.
This year, they are planning more events and inviting the community to visit them.
“Immerse themselves in the history of where we’ve come and where we’re going. It’s a great opportunity to have especially the young ones come in and see how their grandma and grandpa lived, and what we had to go through, and sometimes they’re just amazed they don’t believe us,” says Board of Directors member Pauletta Masonallasi.
