EPD: Drunk driver arrested after driving wrong way on a one way street
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Evansville Police say they arrested a Georgia man after he was driving the wrong way on a one way street towards their marked police car.
Officers say they were driving north on South Garvin Street just after midnight Saturday morning.
That’s when they say 46-year-old Derrick Perry was coming towards them and another vehicle.

Officers turned on their lights and stopped Perry’s car.
When they approached, EPD says they could smell alcohol coming out the vehicle, and when they asked for Perry’s ID, he handed two cards that were not his driver’s license.
Perry told officers that he and his passenger were on their way back from a bar, where he had three drinks prior to leaving.
After a sobriety test, Perry was arrested and taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail.
He was charged with Drunk Driving.
