DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WFIE) - A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is replacing the U.S. 431 bridge over Panther Creek.

Officials say traffic is down to one lane approaching the community of Pettit.

The bridge will be replaced one side at a time with the traffic flow directed by temporary automatic signals.

Demolition and construction of each side of the bridge is expected to last 60 to 90 days, with a final completion set for the end of November.

According to officials, more than 10,000 vehicles pass along the U.S. 431 corridor into Owensboro each day.
