Coroner identifies pedestrian hit and killed by car in Edwards Co.
EDWARDS CO., Illi. (WFIE) - The victim who was killed by a car on Friday in Edwards County has been identified.
According to the Edwards County Coroner, the victim has been identified as 22-year-old Jaxin Lee.
Deputies say Lee was hit and killed by a vehicle on Illinois Route 130.
At approximately 10:30 p.m. on Friday, dispatch received a call in reference to a pedestrian who had been walking along Illinois Route 130 who was allegedly hit and killed by a vehicle.
According to a press release, shortly after emergency services units arrived, Lee was pronounced dead at the scene.
Illinois Route 130 was shut down at the scene of the incident from shortly after it occurred until the scene investigation was completed.
Officials say the road was reopened shortly after 3:20 a.m. on Saturday.
