Noisy bridge demolition scheduled for late hours of the night in Henderson
HENDERSON, Ky. (WFIE) - Some residents in Henderson might find it difficult to fall asleep later this week.
As part of work on the ORX project, officials say demolition work is expected to begin Monday at the former KY-2084 interchange.
Work on Monday and Tuesday will be behind existing lane closures.
Officials say southbound Highway 41 at KY 2084 is expected to close overnight Wednesday, April 16.
Transportation officials say the closure is scheduled from midnight to 4 a.m., and short term rolling closures are also expected from 9 p.m. to midnight.
Officials with the ORX project are asking residents to be patient with the work being done.
“There will be associated noise during the demolition work, and patience is requested from those in the area,” they say. “The work is happening at night to minimize impacts to motorists and to get the work done as quickly and as safely as possible.”
We’re told the interchange is being removed and the area regraded.
