WAYNE CO., Ill. (WFIE) - A Wayne County woman was not sentenced Friday as planned in the death of her one-year-old child.

Aydreian Hooper pleaded guilty in December 2024 to a charge of child endangerment causing death.

Her three other charges, including manslaughter, were dropped.

Friday, a new attorney was appointed to Hooper and a new sentencing date of May 2 was set.

Last month, a special prosecutor was appointed for the case.

Authorities say Hooper left two kids in a car in Fairfield for several hours in July of 2024.

They say a one-year-old-boy died, and a two-year-old boy was severely hurt.
