New Edwards Co. judge sworn in Monday

EDWARDS CO., Illi. (WFIE) - On Monday, Brian Shinkle was sworn in as the Resident Circuit Judge in Edwards County.

The position has been open since November after the previous judge, Michael Valentine, was shot and killed.

As we’ve reported, Michael’s wife, 44-year-old Megan Valentine, was arrested and charged with his murder.

Authorities say she shot and killed Michael at their home in Albion.

According to court records, Megan will be back in Court March 7.

A trial date has not been set.
