They’re two of the many law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty last year to be remembered.

“We have not had an officer fatality in living memory, we’re talking when the train station existing back in Evansville,” said Vanderburgh County Sheriff Noah Robinson.

Robinson says two members of the sheriff’s office are in D.C. to help honor Deputy Hacker.

“For some of our deputies to be participating in police week in Washington D.C. is a fitting tribute to a deputy that never really had the chance to have a career,” Robinson said.

The loss of Sgt. Glenn, who was shot and killed in July of last year, is still weighing heavy on the minds of her department. Tell City Police Chief Derrick Lawalin is in D.C. as well. He says her sacrifice will forever impact his team and the way they serve.
