Adler Planetarium’s Astro Road Trip stops in Fairfield
FAIRFIELD, Ill. (WFIE) - Ahead of next week’s total solar eclipse, Chicago’s Adler Planetarium sent a team down to Fairfield Monday night.
Chicago’s Adler Planetarium is traveling to communities across southern Illinois for the whole week talking about the upcoming solar eclipse.
During the presentation they provided facts about the eclipse, a Q&A session and the ability to see a lunar meteorite.
Astronomer Michelle Nichols says the experience of the eclipse is more than just what you’ll see.
“Help people understand how sensory a total solar eclipse is. It’s a very rare astronomical phenomenon that engages your sight, your sense of sound and your sense of touch, not often in the astronomical world that you get that sort of sense,” she says.
Their next stop will be at Marion Carnegie Library in Marion.
