Gibson Southern holds Hoops for Mental Health Friday night
GIBSON CO., Ind. (WFIE) - Friday night featured Hoops for Mental Health at Gibson Southern.
Different mental health resources in the area set up booths in the cafeteria.
The tables were there for students and parents during the JV and varsity basketball game. Each table offered pamphlets, candy and flyers.
One representative for Ireland Community Partners was giving away wristbands to prevent bullying.
”It says have respect for others, that’s the H. Encourage everyone to be polite, that’s the E. R is report bullying to an adult,” said Tucker Michels. “And O is offer help to those who are bullied. I think that’s super important, I actually said this earlier, ‘I wish more kids stood up for their peers.’”
The tables were there until halftime of the varsity game.
