Memorial alum Branson Combs signs as UDFA with Jacksonville Jaguars
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - As NFL’s annual draft wrapped up tonight, one Evansville native got a very big phone call just after the draft.
Memorial High School grad Branson Combs got a call right after the draft from the Jacksonville Jaguars who signed him as an undrafted free agent.
Combs starred at linebacker last season for Wake Forest where he had 94 total tackles, two sacks, one interception, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble.
Before his career there, he starred at Southern Illinois for 5 years, compiling 177 total tackles, six interceptions and two fumble recoveries.
He also played some tight end for the Salukis, scoring two touchdowns.
At Memorial, he mainly played wide-out, finishing with over 3,700 career yards receiving.
Congrats to the entire Combs family!
