EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Boonville head coach Darin Ward is stepping down after 10 seasons.

Ward accumulated a decade-long record of 59-and-46 with the Pioneers.

His best season came back in 2018 when the Pio’s went 11-and-1, including an undefeated regular season and Big 8 conference title.

That team lost in the sectional championship.

Ward leaves behind a very talented roster, including four all-conference selections.

Going back, Ward has coached for a total of 19 seasons, as he also was head coach at Corydon Central and Charlestown.

Ward also played football at Boonville and Indiana University!

Boonville athletic department tells us its search for Ward’s replacement begins immediately.
