EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -A cut-off-low will bring scattered showers, cloudy skies, and cooler temperatures to the Tri-State this weekend. The low will slowly drift north of the region by Tuesday. We’ll get a brief return of sunshine on Tuesday before more clouds and showers move in by Wednesday. Some slight chances for an isolated shower or storm remain in the forecast through the end of next week.

For the rest of our afternoon anticipate cloudy skies with on-and-off scattered showers and a few storms. Temperatures will range in the upper 50s to lower 60s. While we aren’t expecting severe weather, with cold air aloft, some small hail may be possible with any heavier showers. We’ll also have the potential for a few cold air funnels. Different from tornadoes, they are mostly harmless and rarely reach the ground. Scattered showers and storms will persist overnight. Lows will drop down into the upper 40s to lower 50s. Sunday will be very similar to Saturday, except a bit cooler. Expect cloudy skies with scattered showers and storms. Highs will only top out in the mid-50s. Winds will be out of the west/northwest between 5-15 mph.

Monday will feature cloudy skies with scattered showers becoming more isolated towards the evening hours. Highs will top out in the lower 60s. Clouds will gradually break apart overnight Monday. Temperatures will bottom out in the upper 40s. The pesky cut-off-low will lift north by Tuesday. Expect mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with temperatures warming back into the lower 70s. The middle and end of next week may be a bit of tricky forecast again. We’ll have high pressure to our north with waves of low pressure passing to our south. If the high pressure can remain strong enough it may help keep much of the shower activity to the south of the Tri-State. If the high to our north is weaker then the slight chances for isolated showers and storms will creep up from the south. As of now the best chance for more showers will be Wednesday, with slightly smaller chances through the end of next week. It wouldn’t be a washout by any means, but we could see a few pop-up showers and storms each afternoon for the end of next week.
