Few severe storms possible, cool and damp weekend
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Another frontal boundary will make a pass over the Tri-state today. Some showers and thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon with a few strong to severe storms possible. A cut-off-low will plague the weather this weekend. Expect on-and-off scattered showers, cooler temperatures and mostly cloudy skies. Highs will only top out in the 60s Saturday and Sunday. We’ll see sunshine return on Tuesday before more showers work their way back into the forecast by the middle of next week.
The morning will remain mostly dry with partly cloudy skies. Showers and storms will begin to push in from southwest to northeast beginning late this morning and carrying through the afternoon. While widespread severe weather isn’t expected, a few storms may become strong to severe with the main hazards being damaging winds and hail but tornadoes can’t be completely ruled out. Highs today will top out in the mid-70s. Scattered shower and thunderstorm activity will persist into the overnight hours. Lows will drop into the mid-50s.
The weekend has turned more gray and damp. A cut-off low will sit and sping over the region for both Saturday and Sunday. Expect on-and-off scattered showers and some thunderstorms. Temperatures will be cooler as well. Highs will top out in the mid-60s Saturday and lower-60s on Sunday. Showers may linger into Monday before clearing out completely by Tuesday. Tuesday looks to be the pick of the week with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the lower 70s.
