On Alert for severe storms Tuesday, unsettled week ahead
Damaging wind threat Tuesday evening
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -Sunny and pleasant weather kicked off the week on Monday with temps in the upper 70s. A potent storm system will dip toward the Tri-State on Tuesday. Winds will shift to the south and it will become breezy and humid by the afternoon with temps maxing out in the mid 80s. We are on alert for a few severe storms with damaging winds and hail on Tuesday evening. With the forecast setup, damaging straight-line winds would be the most likely hazard between 5pm and midnight on Tuesday. The front will then stall out across the region, so we will have a daily chance of scattered showers and storms through Thursday. Highs will be on the warm side with upper 70s and lower 80s. Dry and quiet weather settles in by the end of the week with highs dropping back into the lower 70s and lows dipping into the upper 40s through Sunday.
