EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - A weak wave of low pressure passing to our south will bring the chance for a stray shower late this morning/early this afternoon, otherwise expect a mostly dry day. Southerly winds will warm temperatures to above-average levels through the beginning of the work week. We are on Alert Tuesday for the potential for some severe storms. More showers and storms will be possible through the end of the work week.

High pressure will remain in place to our north today. This area of high pressure will keep the weather mostly quiet and dry however, a few showers may sneak their way into parts of southern Illinois and Western Kentucky late this morning/early this afternoon. Outside of a stray shower expect a mostly dry day with partly to mostly cloudy skies. Highs will top out in the upper 60s to around 70.

High pressure will slide off to our east on Monday. Winds will then turn out of the south allowing warm and moist air to return to the region. Highs on Monday will top out in the lower 80s with mostly sunny skies. Winds will be out of the south between 5-10 mph. The weather will remain quiet and mild overnight. Lows will hover in the upper 60s. The weather become more active and unsettled by Tuesday. A cold front will sag southward Tuesday afternoon. The front will ignite the chance for more scattered showers and storms, some of which may be severe. The SPC has highlighted the entire Tri-State with a slight (2 out of 5) risk for severe weather. It’s too early for any details on timing or hazards, so stay tuned for updates. The front looks to stall out over the Tri-State area and act as a guide for another wave of low pressure to move in Wednesday and Thursday. Showers and storms will remain possible through the end of the work week before clearing out by the weekend.
