Some showers and storms to round off the week, pleasant weekend
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - A weak wave of low pressure passing to our south will conjure up a few isolated storms this afternoon. Highs today will top out in the upper 70s to around 80. Showers and storms will dissipate this evening with lows dropping into the upper 50s to lower 60s. Friday will feature partly to mostly cloudy skies. A cold front will swing through during the afternoon which will conjure up some more showers and storms. While severe weather isn’t expected, I can’t rule out a stronger storm capable of producing gusty winds. Temperatures will warm up to the mid to upper 70s ahead of the front. Behind the front, the winds will become northwesterly between 5-10 mph. Northwest winds will cool temperatures down into the mid-50s Friday night.
The weekend is looking pleasant! High pressure will keep the weather nice and quiet. Expect partly to mostly sunny skies on Saturday with highs topping out in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Sunday will be another great day! Anticipate mostly sunny skies with highs warming into the lower 70s.
High pressure will slip off to our east by the beginning of the work week Southerly winds will allow temperatures will warm up well above average. Highs on Monday may top out in the lower 80s. Tuesday will be just as warm ahead of another cold front. The front will bring another round of showers and storms Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
