EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -Cloudy skies were the rule Thursday as temps stayed in the low to mid 60s. A few scattered showers possible Thursday night as a warm front lifts through the Tri-State. Friday will be windy and warmer with highs near 80s with winds out of the southeast at 15-25 mph. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible late Friday night through early Saturday morning as a cold front swings in from the west. Unsettled weather returns for the weekend, with several rounds of showers and thunderstorms. As the front stalls across the region, heavy rainfall will be possible, especially north of I-64. The entire area may see 1-3″ of rainfall, and flooding will be possible. Saturday’s Alert Day is for a few severe storms and heavy rainfall. Sunday’s forecast is dependent on how quickly Saturday’s rain moves out. Another stronger storm system will develop over Missouri and push in from the southwest on Sunday afternoon. The First Alert Weather Day for Sunday is for the afternoon and evening when more widespread severe weather, including tornadoes, may be possible. The risk is still “conditional”, meaning it will depend on how Saturday’s storms behave. You should monitor the forecast carefully through the weekend. Rain ends early next week as highs hold in the lower 70s.
