Rain ending, flooding concerns remain
Rivers will rise through mid-week

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -A whopping 10-12″ of rain fell across Western Kentucky over the last 3 days, and flooding will continue through mid-week. Evansville Regional Airport received a record 3.04″ of rain on Sunday for a grand total of 6.67″ of rain over the last 3 days...this is nearly double the amount we would receive in an entire month. The Ohio River at Evansville will jump to 46.6 feet by the end of the week, about 4.5 feet above flood stage. The Green River at Calhoun is expected to crest at 34 feet on Tuesday, about 11 feet above flood stage. All area rivers will continue to rise above flood stage through at least Wednesday. Rain will taper off today, but lingering clouds will hold temperatures in the 50’s through Sunday afternoon. Sunshine will break through on Monday, but temps will remain cooler than normal with highs in the 50s through Tuesday. Overnight lows will sink into the mid 30s. Milder air works in by mid-week as highs push back toward the mid 60s. More rain and some thunderstorms will be possible on Wednesday and Thursday.
