EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -Thursday is providing a bit of a break in the active weather pattern. Cloudy skies and cooler temps will keep the severe risk much lower than Wednesday. While a few severe storms with large hail and damaging winds may develop on Thursday night, our biggest concern is for widespread flooding that will continue into the weekend. The Tri-State stands to see another 6-8″ of rainfall on top of Wednesday’s rain. Rain should finally come to an end by Sunday. Several rounds of showers and storms with heavy rain will move through the Ohio Valley between Thursday night and Saturday. We have another shot a severe weather on Friday afternoon and evening, with the potential for damaging winds, hail and even tornadoes. The Storm Prediction Center has maintained a level 2 of 5 risk for severe storms through Saturday. Temperatures will return to the 70s on Friday and Saturday as a warm front lifts back into the area. A cold front will finally clear the threatening weather by Saturday. Temps will fall back into the 50s Sunday through Wednesday of next week.
