EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Confidence is increasing in widespread severe weather Sunday afternoon and evening. The Storm Prediction Center has continued a Level 3 of 5 risk for the entire Tri-State with the potential for Significant severe weather. Significant severe weather would be EF-2 or stronger tornadoes, 75+ mph winds and 2″ diameter hail with the more intense storms. The latest timing shows a few severe thunderstorms possible by Sunday afternoon with more widespread impacts along a line of storms by afternoon and evening. The critical time will be from 4pm to 10pm Sunday. You should check the weather often, especially Sunday morning and firm up your severe weather plan. Know your safe spot, have a communication plan with your family or friends and put together an emergency kit in case you lose power or have storm damage. We will provide frequent updates here and on all of our streaming platforms through Sunday. We are also watching Wednesday--another First Alert Weather Day--for potential widespread severe weather.
