Widespread severe outbreak, tornadoes possible Friday - Saturday

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -The Storm Prediction Center has expanded the elevated risk to include the entire Tri-State on Friday and Saturday. Significant, widespread severe weather with damaging winds and tornadoes will likely come in 2 rounds. The first storms will move in Friday night (after 6) through early Saturday morning. The second wave will kick off Saturday afternoon into the evening. Both rounds of storms will be capable of widespread severe weather and tornadoes, although Saturday’s will depend on when and where it develops. It will be very windy Friday with gusts of over 40mph and warm with temps in the upper 70s. The spring weather will continue on Thursday with a few scattered showers and thunderstorms possible, but severe weather is not expected. After a stormy Friday-Saturday, skies should clear on Sunday and temps will fall into the lowewr 50s. Milder air quickly bounces back as highs return to the 60s and 70s early next week.
