EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -Sunny and pleasant conditions will give the Tri-State a good dose of spring fever in the week ahead. Skies will stay clear Sunday night and lows will drop back into the middle 30s. Monday will be sunny and mild with a high of 66. Warmer air works in for the middle of the week, with highs in the low to middle 70s Tuesday-Thursday. We have a First Alert Weather Day for Friday for possible severe storms. A strong storm system will wind up in the plains and head toward the Mississippi and Ohio river valleys on Friday. It will be very windy and warm with highs in the mid 70s on Friday. The cold front may trigger severe thunderstorms with large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes. The timing and location of the severe weather threat will come into better focus in the next few days. For now, you should stay alert and keep an eye on Friday’s forecast.
