EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - High pressure will gradually slide off to our southeast this week. Winds will continue to blow from the south allowing temperatures to warm up well above average through the work week. Our next chance for rain arrives Wednesday afternoon/evening with the passage of a cold front.

For the rest of our afternoon expect sunny skies with temperatures ranging in the mid-40s. The weather will remain quiet tonight with mostly clear skies. Overnight lows will drop into the upper 20s to around 30.

We’ve got a warm and relatively quiet week of weather ahead of us. Monday will feature mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with highs topping out in the lower 50s. Winds will be out of the south/southwest with gusts up to 15-20 mph possible. Lows will drop into the mid-30s with partly cloudy skies Monday night. Tuesday will be another fantastic day with mostly sunny skies. Highs will top out in the upper 50s with some spots possibly touching 60. Wednesday will be the warmest day of the week where temperatures will soar into the upper 50s to lower 60s ahead of the cold front. The cold front will sweep through during the afternoon and evening. As the front passes overhead, it will conjure up some scattered showers. Thunderstorms can’t be ruled out, but the severe weather risk looks to be very low! Temperatures will cool slightly behind this front with highs topping out in the low to mid-50s through the end of the work week and into next weekend.
