Warming above average through the work week
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - For the rest of our Sunday expect partly to mostly cloudy skies with temperatures hanging out in the upper 30s to around 40. Outside of the slight chance for a sprinkle/flurry over western Kentucky, the weather will remain quiet tonight. Expect decreasing cloud cover overnight with lows dropping into the lower 20s.
High pressure will remain to our southwest over Texas and the deep south. This area of high pressure will keep the weather quiet through at least Wednesday. Not only will we remain dry, but southerly winds will help warm us up above average through the work week. Highs on Monday will top out in the lower 40s underneath sunny skies. Winds will become southwesterly between 2-9 mph with gusts up to 15 mph possible. Temperatures climb into the upper 40s to around 50 by Tuesday and Wednesday with mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will hover in the upper 40s to around 50 to close out the week. Our next best chance of precipitation looks to move in by the end of the work week. At this point, it looks like an area of low pressure will drift northeastward from the desert southwest into the central plains. It looks like rain will begin to spread into the region overnight Thursday into Friday with rain and scattered showers possibly lingering into Saturday.
