EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -For the rest of our Sunday, anticipate mostly sunny skies with brutally cold temperatures. Highs this afternoon have only warmed into the upper teens to around 20. Winds gusting out of the northwest up to 25 mph will make it FEEL like the single digits. After sunset, windchill values will drop below zero. Some folks may experience wind chill values as low as -10 overnight into Monday morning. Dress properly for the cold! Wear multiple layers, with gloves, hats, and scarves.

Arctic air will stick around through the beginning of the work week. Highs on Monday will only warm into the teens. Wind will be lighter out of the west between 3-6 mph. However, windchill values will still remain mostly in the single digits all day. Expect mostly sunny skies during the day but clouds will increase Monday night. Overnight lows will drop into the upper single digits again. Tuesday will be very similar to Monday temperature-wise. Highs will struggle to break out of the teens. Winds will be out of the northwest between 5-10 mph. Expect mostly cloudy skies to start with decreasing cloud cover through the afternoon. We’ll wake up to the single digits one more time Wednesday morning before warming up to around 30 by the afternoon. Temperatures will moderate back into the 30s for the end of the work week, possibly even reaching the 40s by the weekend. The overall pattern looks dry with no major storm system moving through the region. However, there is a slight chance for a few snow showers Thursday night but only some models are picking up on that possibility. Our next best chance for precipitation doesn’t arrive until the weekend.
