EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - I have extended First Alert until 2 p.m. Sunday. The NWS has issued Wind Advisories across the entire Tri-State. The Wind Advisory goes into effect at 7 a.m. and is set to expire at 2 p.m. West/northwesterly wind gusts of up to 40-45 mph will be possible as this storm system departs to the northeast. Secure loose outdoor items, especially decorations. Some tree limbs may be blown down which could cause a few power outages.

The bulk of the heavy rain has pushed off to the north of the Tri-State, but wrap around rain showers will linger into the afternoon. Isolated areas of flooding will still be possible until 9 am when the Flood Watch expires. Highs will top out in the mid to upper 50s. A few more spotty showers will pass through the area this evening before completely drying out overnight. Lows will drop into the lower 40s.

We’ll get a brief break in the action during the day on Monday. Expect a mix of clouds and sun with temperatures reaching the mid-50s. Another system will bring shower back into the forecast Monday night into Tuesday. Temperatures will start to trend downward by the middle and end of next week. Some flurries and few sprinkles may be possible Thursday night into Friday.
