Benny Patterson III discusses his recent commitment to Michigan football
PARADISE, Ind. (WFIE) - Castle High School’s football season ended a few weeks ago, but one of their big stars, defensive lineman, Benny Patterson III, is not finished playing football. He’s committed to play college football, in some very familiar colors.
He will attend Michigan next year, and play for the Wolverines. Now he originally committed to Cincinnati, but then this past summer, the offers started to roll in, from numerous, power-four, D1 schools, so he changed his mind, and he’s headed to Ann Arbor.
“I think they’re culture’s second to none. Really good people out there and a really good culture, really good locker room. That program’s always going to be competing at the highest level, so I think all those things combined, is ultimately what helped made my decision. Of course, it all comes down to a feeling and a fit, and I felt like both of those are right,” said Patterson III. “Tough, gritty, nasty midwestern football team, so it’s kind of everything that we believe in here, so it’s gonna transfer over really well. It’s definitely a super-great feeling, to kind of see all your hard work pay off. It’s really a blessing. You go out there and give it everything you got all throughout the summer, and then during the season, you want to put your best plays on tape, and then, ultimately, you do that, and schools find you.”
Best of luck to Patterson, the rest of the school year and when he gets to Michigan.
