HENDERSON CO., Ky. (WFIE) - We now have the results of the two consequential items on the Kentucky ballot, which are Amendments One and Two.

Amendment One deals with voting rights whereas Amendment Two deals with school choice and funding.

Amendment One has officially passed, and Amendment Two has not.

At last check, Amendment One passed with 65% of people voting “yes”. Amendment Two did not pass, with 65% of people voting “no”.

Amendment Two was arguably the more consequential of the two, as it effects Kentucky’s schools.

With Amendment Two failing to pass, there will be no change to state constitution in regards to state funding to students outside of public schools.

With Amendment One passing, the following language will be added to both sections 145 and 155 of the state constitution:

“No person who is not a citizen of the United States shall be allowed to vote in this state.”

“Yes” votes for Amendment One and “No” votes for Amendment Two won by nearly 500,000 each in this election.
