Ind. leaders getting ready for Mental Health Roundtable Summit
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - As we reach the end of mental health awareness month, Indiana leaders are looking ahead to another Mental Health Roundtable Summit.
Last year the event hosted more than 500 people from organizations across the state.
Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch says this year, the summit will focus on young people.
While organizers hope school leaders and others who work with children will take part, they also welcome parents.
Crouch shared with us some of her own family’s story, as they learned her daughter is bipolar.
“We didn’t realize what was going on initially, you know? And so, you’ve got to have those kind of uncomfortable conversations about ‘how are you doing? How are you feeling? You know? I know it’s okay not be okay all the time. We’ve got to share that message,” said Lt. Gov. Crouch.
The event is June 12 in Indianapolis.
